These are the areas of life that people most often say are important in terms of affecting their quality of life. Ask yourself how you are are doing in each of these areas on a scale of 1-10. 1. Relationships/Marriage: this includes romantic relationships, relationships with family, and parenting relationships
6. Self-esteem: related to emotional health but is more specifically about how you feel about yourself, and how you treat yourself. 7. Sleep: insomnia from various causes, or poor quality sleep. 8. Stress/Free-time: do you feel chronic stress and that your life is too hectic? Do you have time for yourself and your family? Do you feel overwhelmed by the demands of your life? 9. Chronic Pain: chronic back pain, arthritis, and headaches lead the way here. Also fibromyalgia. 10. Spirituality: having a sense of spiritual connection, meditation, religion. Nobody rates all of these areas a ten. The goal is to have each of these areas at a level that you feel satisfied with. The average score for all people in all areas is about 6. For people who are really unhappy with their lives, they usually score less than two in at least one of these areas, especially the first four. Make it your goal to score at least 6 in all areas, and strive for the highest score you can. There are self assessments for all of the above areas which will also help you get specific scores for each one, showing you how to improve these areas based on what has worked for many people, in all situations.
