Quit Smoking Self-assessment:

1. I have no need to smoke. I have discovered what need it was meeting and have found healthier ways to meet that need.
2. I know why I smoked. (hint: it was not because you liked it, go deeper)
3. I am able to relax and enjoy situations without smoking.
4. I have alternatives to smoking that work well to eliminate cravings.
5. I am not concerned about smoking to keep my weight down.
6. I do not need to smoke in order to concentrate.
7. I give myself the same kind of breaks as I did when I smoked.
8. I use deep breathing (like when I smoke) to bring on the relaxation response. Nicotine was not causing my relaxation, breathing was. (use a straw or other fake cigarette if needed).
9. If my smoking was associated with other addictions like gambling, drinking, or eating, I have taken care of those addictions as well.
10. I tell myself constantly that I am a non-smoker.
