what are good home workouts for surfers?

Question by thatonegirl: what are good home workouts for surfers?
when theres no waves but when i just want to improve, what are some good workouts i can do at home or maybee at the gym..? but mostly at home that will help surfing.
thanks!

Answer by bruddah_chrispy
You’ll want to concentrate on your lats and triceps.

If you have access to a gym then doing lat pulldowns and tricep presses are a good way to go. Medium weight, 10-15 reps, 2-3 sets. If you can complete all reps, then raise the weight, if you can’t then lower it.

If you are working out at home try to set up dip bars – two parallel bars about shoulder width apart. Hold yourself up on them and slowly lower your body until your elbow forms a 90 degree angle, then raise yourself back up.

HTH.

Home Workout Program – Best Workouts From Home

My at home workout program will help you to get in the shape of your life. You can get a great body from the comfort of your own home and with minimal workout equipment. All you need are a lot of motivation, yourself and a few dumbbell weights. Once you have gotten all the right tools, make sure that you do my at home workouts at least 3-5 times a week for best results. Your workouts will consist of a warm up phase, cardio or weight training (or a combination of the two) and a cool down and a stretch.

##Warm up

You should always do a proper warm up before you start with your at home workout program, to avoid injures. Do 10 minutes of light cardio before your workouts to properly warm yourself up. And before you do weight training do one set of the exercise with a very light weight to warm up your muscles.

##Cardio

You don’t need fancy cardio machines to get a great cardio workout in from home. Some of the best cardio exercises you can do from home are walking, running, swimming, riding your bike, doing house work, gardening and walking your dog. If you want to lose weight or fat, it is best that you get as much cardio exercise in as possible. You should aim to get at least 20-40 minutes of cardio in about 4-5 days a week for best results. Even if you just walk your dog, it will all help.

]]>

##Weight training

Weight training is excellent for burning off fat and boosting your metabolism. It even boosts your calorie burn so that you start to burn calories in your sleep. When you burn so much calories with a faster metabolism, it won’t be long until you are much slimmer. Some of the best upper body exercises you can do with your home workout program are bicep curls, tricep extensions, shoulder press, upright row for your back and chest presses. Some of the best lower body exercises that you can do are lunges and sqauts. Aim to get about 3-4 weight trianing sessions in a week. You can do upper and lower body exercises togehter, but it is best if you stick to either upper or lower body exercises on one day.

##Cool down and stretch

It is important to end the last 5 minutes of your cardio session very gently, as not doing so can have catastrophic results. And be sure to stretch all your muscles after your workout to prevent injury and stiffness.

These steps are all you need to make the prefect workout plan. Just commit to doing your workouts regularly and you will soon be in the best shape of your life. For best results, try t get about 3-5 workouts in a week.

These steps, together with a great workout plan like, The Bikini Model Program are all you need to lose fat faster. Just implement the steps, follow your workout program and you will succeed.

Great Flat Stomach Workouts

Today I want to offer some great flat stomach workouts that can done be easily and quickly right at home.  You may not believe this, but getting a flat stomach is not that difficult.  The hardest part is just choosing to find the time to do what needs to be done.

Each of these exercises takes only about 5 minutes to do but work great for toning and firming your gut.

Great Flat Stomach Workouts

The ab wheel workout

This is a gadget that everyone should have.  This thing produces results!  It tightens and firms your stomach muscles like crazy.

All you have to do is get on your toes or knees.  (Getting on your knees is easier.)  Then place each hand on either handle.  After that, roll out in front of you as far as you’re able while still being able to control the ab wheel.  Then roll it back in.  That is the hard part.

Try to do this for 30-second intervals and do it for 5 minutes total.  Do this exercise 4 times each week.

The plank

This exercise is great for working your body’s core.  All you have to do is raise yourself up on your toes while lying with your face looking down at the ground.  Then put all your weight on your forearms.  Hold this position for as long as possible.  Then rest and do it 3 more times.

This is an exercise you should do at least 5 times a week.

Those are 2 of my favorite flat stomach workouts that you really should try if you want to see some stellar results.

At Home Workouts: Top Tips For Beginners For At Home Workouts

At home workouts can be a lot more effective than most people realize. Does that mean you will be able to develop a massive, ripped, Mr. Olympia style physique at home? No, that probably won’t be possible. Can you develop the physique of your favorite action movie star? YES. That’s not an exaggeration! At home workouts can get you lean, ripped, and in tremendous shape. Here are a few ways how to do this:

Purchasing a high quality home gym might prove to be the perfect solution for those unable to travel to a commercial gym. These systems are known for their ability to hit a complete and total body workout. Between free weights and cable weights, there is really no muscle group on the body you cannot hit.

Of course, a total home gym system can cost a significant amount of money. For those not able to afford such a system, a simple home bench press gym can be acquired for roughly 0. Such a system allows you to lift light or moderate amounts of weights. Many of these benches also come with leg extension systems so you can work the quads as well. Of course, you can also use the barbell which this type of system comes with to perform various standing exercise workouts. These exercises could include squats, dead lifts, shoulder presses, barbell curls, etc. Just be careful about packing on a lot of weight to the bar. You are not in a gym and have no supervision or spotter. Lifting light or moderate amounts of weights would be better to employ with such a system.

]]>

Then, there are three other methods that can be employed for at home workouts. These methods can be added to the home gym workouts or they can be used as standalone workouts. These three methods include dumbbell, kettlebell, and bodyweight workouts. All three strategies can seriously help you develop a ripped physique.

Dumbbells can be employed for use in the same workouts that a barbell would be. There are some differences. Obviously, you would have a hard time lifting heavier weight with dumbbells due to their design. They do, however, provide a longer range of motion, which can impact the body in many ways. While better for definition than mass, dumbbells can definitely change your physique.

Kettlebells are enormously popular and for good reason. They impact every muscle in the body and do so in a manner that is a radical departure from traditional weight training. The weight is swung as opposed to lifted and this engages the body in a completely different manner. The end result would still be a muscular and defined physique and it would also be one with enhanced muscular endurance and physical strength. Kettlebell workouts are frequently practiced by professional athletes to boost performance. Consider that a solid recommendation for working out with them as well.

Bodyweight exercises have been around since the dawn of time and the sheer variety of them is amazing. You can perform all manner of at home workouts via bodyweight exercises. Generally, most exercises are variants of squats, bridges, and pushups. Even in their most basic form, daily performances of these exercises can alter a physique significantly.

Really, there is a tremendous amount of variety you can perform with your exercises. At home workouts is not tough at all to accomplish. It just requires a little commitment and dedication. The rewards for doing so can be amazing.

Answer by Liefde-Chance
* Jogging in place at full speed for 2 – 3 minutes ( set a goal of how many total minutes you want to do a day)

* 2-3 sets of 20 jumping jacks

* 12 crunches (lay on your back and bring your knees to your chest, breathe in and exhale as you swing your lower body to the left; breathe in as you return to the middle and exhale swinging your lower body to the right.)

You don’t have to do all the workouts in the world; you just need to do what you can handle and increase the reps and remember, consistency consistency consistency.

I provided the source below because it is an example of dedication and consistency that will lead to results.

Pectoral Workouts – Top 5 Pectoral Workout Exercises For Big Pecs

Why is it that the chest and pectoral muscles are so difficult to develop, particularly if you’re a skinny guy and no matter what you do you can still see your bones showing through?

Pectoral workouts are clearly the answer…but what exercises should you be doing in your pectoral workouts to get big rock hard pecs?

Here are my top 5 exercises to include in your pectoral workouts. They are compound exercises that will work more than just your pectoral muscles, giving you a great upper body:

Bench Press
Incline Bench Press (works the upper pecs)
Decline Bench Press (works the lower pecs)
Push Ups (can also perform inclined, wide-grip and close-grip push ups for variation)
Dumbbell Flyes (great for working the inner pecs to fill out the chest area)

The key to success with the pectoral workout exercises above is to make sure that you are lifting a heavy weight to get the maximum muscle gain.

Aim for around 6-10 reps on 2-3 sets each exercise.

If you are struggling to achieve 6-10 reps then you know the weight is too heavy, and if you are doing them easily then you know the weight is too light.

In your pectoral workouts you should focus on keeping good form and technique as the more you can isolate the tension and effort in your pectoral muscles the more growth you will see. I say this because sometimes with these exercises the temptation is to place more effort and strain on the shoulders and triceps.

If you’re a skinny guy who’s looking to gain muscle mass, adding bulk to your chest can really make a huge difference. Discover the secrets of how a skinny guy can add pounds of muscle mass quickly ==> Pectoral Workouts

What home workouts will most quickly add visible mass to calves?

Question by Robert B: What home workouts will most quickly add visible mass to calves?
Right now I have rather thin calves. I would like to know what calf workouts I can do at home with only dumbells (not running) will most quickly add visible mass to my calves. I am a rather impatient person… so if I don’t see results in one to two months I will stop. Also, how often should I be working my calves? Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Dreaming Heart
lift yourself up onto your tip toes starting out 25 times a day then slowly move up… it might thin them out a tiny bit at first because your turning the fat into muscle but after that you should start gaining weight there… ameno acid supplements help you build muscle…. or a protein shake once a day could help to but you need to work your whole body and then just work your calves more then the rest of your body… but like i said when you do it that way you thin out first before you start to get bigger any where….

i have a pair (every) of 20 and 10 lbs weights. i am searching to get in shape and i would like to know of some house excerices. anything to far better define.

Greatest answer:

Answer by Nemo
-Bicep curls
-Shoulder Press
-Dumbell Flyes
-Tricep extension
-Squats holding dumbells
-Pullovers

They are effortless to find, just type the physical exercise name into google and you will locate out how to do them. Keep in mind do not do them every day otherwise you will not acquire muscle as your muscles will not have enough rest. Do them each and every other day. And remember eat a lot of protein about 1 gram per pound of your body weight. So if I weigh 130 pounds, I will have 130 grams of protein a day.
